If you are a K-beauty junkie like me, then you probably enjoy trying out new products from different brands. Yes, we may all know and love Laneige or Innisfree but why not try out these new products from under-the-radar K beauty brands. Here are the brands that I have been obsessed with (and if you’re heading to South Korea, be sure to pick them up).
This skincare brand targets sensitive skin and is formulated without any harsh chemicals and additives. Although they are very gentle, the products are still effective and managed to help improve the overall condition of my skin.
After trying out various vitamin C infused products, this is still one of my favourites. It is formulated with 5 per cent vitamin C but is very gentle on the skin (I have sensitive skin and it works well on me). I apply the serum twice weekly before I go to bed and I’m always amazed at the immediate results. It helps to brighten and even out skin tone while also fading any acne scars and pigmentation.
This cult Korean skincare brand is known for using cactus oils for hydration, a practice that many women in the Sahara desert have been using for years. The products are also infused with prickly pear cactus extract, which leaves skin feeling supple, hydrated and soft. And did we mention, all products also come in travel-sized bottles so you can easily carry this on the plane for your in-flight skincare routine.
Infused with acai berry and Sahara cactus oil, this oil essence helps to deliver long lasting hydration and is also rich in antioxidants and vitamins to fight premature ageing. It is also very lightweight and gentle on my skin and instantly gives me a natural, dewy glow.
This innovative brand is known for developing advanced, high-performance, and cruelty-free formulas, as well as its six-core bio-technology formulas which deliver the benefits of natural ingredients to the skin.
These exfoliating pads use a unique three layer pad technology to deeply penetrate into the skin to clean out pore-clogging debris and gently remove dead skin cells and other impurities without irritating skin. The star ingredient of this product, lemon, is rich in vitamin C (a powerful antioxidant) to give you clearer, brighter and smoother skin.
If you have been reading this space for awhile now, you probably can tell I love using Cosrx’s products. They are gentle on my skin yet effective and are also very affordable. The brand targets specific skin concerns and uses as little ingredients as possible (only using what’s most important) to create its products.
I use these pads as a toner and exfoliator. It helps to unclog pores and remove remaining dirt. Each of the pads is soaked in a rich medicated essence that is gentle on the skin but still treats acne scarring and pimples. It is also very hydrating, leaving my skin feeling refreshed, soft and very smooth.
Klavuu infuses natural pearl and marine plant extracts into their signature formulas to help hydrate and brighten skin. Although the brand is relatively new, it has already garnered some attraction from industry insiders and celebs alike (even Korean model Sunghee Kim uses the brightening mask from the brand).
This cleansing water is infused with fermented yeast and hydrolyzed pearl extracts to help hydrate and brighten skin. It is also enriched with marine-collagen to promote a youthful elasticity to the skin. I use it in the morning and evening after cleansing and it leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed.
