Up Your Cat-Eye Game With These Coloured Eyeliners

Break the monotony of wearing the predictable black cat-eye. We bring you all the fun and vibrant eyeliners that will live up to the F/W'19 coloured liner beauty trend.

Even though Maybelline and Max Factor were the first cosmetic companies to release brown- and white-coloured eyeliners during the Roaring Twenties, we’ve really got to thank the Swinging Sixties for making sure that eyeliner is no longer limited to the quintessential black shade anymore.

Since the good ol’ times, coloured eyeliners might have come and gone, but judging from the way it’s been splashed across F/W’19 runway beauty looks, it’s safe to say that eclectic cat-eye looks are here to stay (and slay). At least, for now.

At Guy Laroche, it was a twist on the classic winged liner, but in a vivid red this time. While at Anna Sui and Natasha Zinko, it took form in lilac and bright pink. Then, Tibi’s models were seen with teal smudged out messily but artfully in their waterlines.

Scroll on for our edit of the snazziest colours to wear on your lids this season.

Here’s a hot pink one to pull of a similar look to the floating liner look that was spotted at Natasha Zinko, but with sparkly pizzazz. The formula dries quickly to a soft finish and peels off easily with no mess or fallout, so there’s no need for tugging thanklessly at your delicate lids with makeup remover. The precise applicator is also designed to make it easy to create multilayered eye looks with different colours. Christian Louboutin Beauty Oeil Velours Velvet Eye Definer in Hot Chick, US$52 (S$71) from Net-a-Porter

A smoky dark-plum shade that’s flattering on blue or hazel eyes, wear this with a purple smokey eye look. Use it as a shadow as well – just smudge it out. It’s creamy and designed to be just as smooth and saturated as liquid formulas. Hourglass 1.5mm Mechanical Gel Eye Liner In Meteorite, $30 from Sephora
The 1.5mm thin mechanical liner allows for thin and accurate lining. There’s really no need for a separate brush or a pot. Messy lines and cleanups will not be in your dictionary when you’re perfecting your cat-eye with this. Plus, it’s an undaunting colour for you to dip your toes into this bold trend.
