actress amanda seyfried interview

Best places to shop around the world “I like to go to Liberty in London, I love it there! It’s so nice. The Japanese paper store Tokyo Hands is also great.”

Oldest thing in her wardrobe she still wears “I have this beige, buttoned-down T-shirt that I love from (casualwear label) Splendid. I’ve had it since I was 16 and it has a hole in it now, but I still love it.”

Favourite fashion label Givenchy, because I can wear most of their things. I love the new dresses, the very sexy suits, and their purses are the best.”

Must-have health foods “I take odourless garlic for antibiotic purposes. It’s really, really good for you. I use seven cloves and blend it into a soup – it’s so good. I also take olive leaf and blackcurrant seed oils for skin. And I drink so much water. I also occasionally add fruit juice in it.”

Favourite dining spot
“ABC Kitchen in New York City. It’s way too expensive, which makes me angry, but I love going there (for its flavourful dishes).”

Last book she read An Exact Replica of a Figment of My Imagination by Elizabeth McCracken. It’s so depressing, but really good. But (to be honest) I usually just listen to (audio readings of) books.”

Who she would like to work with “Cate Blanchett. She’s really smart and a great actress. I’ve always looked up to her. She seems really honest and appears to be a very good female influence. I also wish I could work with Paul Newman, but he’s dead.”

Things that cheer her up “I listen to Patty Griffin when I’m having a bad day; she’s my spirit animal. She’s a beautiful, soulful musician. When I’m feeling really crappy, I lie on my bed with my dog and rub his ears.”
