The Coachella 2017 line-up has recently been unveiled, and it will undoubtedly be another exciting year for one of the world’s most famous music festivals. Held over two weekends (April 14-16 and April 21-23) at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, the headliners this year are Beyonce, Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar.

While all the acts on the line-up are undoubtedly respected artistes in the music industry, a few are also making an impact on the fashion scene. We highlight artistes who have made strides in both music and fashion, proving that they are truly all-round stars.

#1: Beyonce

The recipient of the 2016 CFDA Fashion Icon Award, Beyonce is well known for being a style chameleon – just look at all the incredible looks she pulled off in Lemonade, her visually stunning studio album released last year. The first female artiste to headline the festival in 10 years since Bjork did so in 2007, get ready for some bound-to-be-iconic costumes from Queen Bey.

Los Angles-based singer-songwriter Banks is no stranger to the fashion scene – she has appeared front row at a Chanel show, played at boutiques of French brand Iro and American label 3.1 Phillip Lim and was picked by Dior to perform at its annual Guggenheim International Gala in New York last year. Her newest music video for the song “Gemini Feed”, the second single off her forthcoming album The Altar, also sees her sporting makeup with a Black Swan-esque vibe – a perfect fit for the soulful R&B singer.

#3: Gucci Mane

The 36-year-old American rapper has certainly had a tumultuous past few years (he was only released from house arrest over gun charges late last year). Fresh off the success of his 9th studio album Everybody Looking, which went to number two on the US Billboard 200, as well as a whopping 75-pound weight loss, Mane has also undergone a noticeable style change. Recently reviewing the Gucci Spring 2017 collection with Vogue, Mane considers Givenchy and Balmain among his favourite designers, and his sartorial transformation can be credited to celebrity stylist Shun Melson, who has worked with him for 10 years.

#4: Lorde

Another familiar face in fashion, the 20-year-old Kiwi – known for rocking a dark and slightly gothic style – has attended numerous fashion shows from Dior at Paris Fashion Week to Kanye West’s Yeezy presentation at New York Fashion Week. She’s appeared in the pages of Vogue, and is also frequently featured on best dressed lists. The singer-songwriter has had a relatively quiet 2015 and 2016 since her critically acclaimed 2013 debut album Pure Heroine, so we are expecting to hear some new songs from her.

The 29-year-old Swedish singer-songwriter shot to fame when her sleeper hit “Habits (Stay High)” became a worldwide hit and dominated the airwaves in 2014. Now back with her second studio album Lady Wood, which has already given us the hit song “Cool Girl”, Lo has cited Janis Japlin and Courtney Love as her style icons, influences that are evident in her signature grungy and effortless style. Even before achieving worldwide fame, she collaborated on a collection with Swedish brand Junkyard that is highly reflective of her own style – think denim jackets and shorts, and loose tank tops.
