The New Year’s Eve party at the lounge will feature one of today’s most praised and sought-after DJs and producers, &ME. Fans of Amine K. will be ecstatic to know that he will be helming the decks of Mao on New Year’s Eve. His progressive and signature brand of house music has taken him to festival booths and clubs across Europe, North America and of course, Asia. Expect live compositions during his set and other ethnic samples to supplement the beat structures. Tickets are priced at $35 (before midnight, five drinks included) and $30 (after midnight, one drink included). 133 Cecil Street

#5: Altimate


Ring in the new year 282 metres above the city streets at Altimate as you revel to the sick beats from internationally renowned Dutch DJs Husman and RODG, alongside resident DJs Leonard T, Big M, Rattle, resident live band One Avenue and of course, emcees J Soopa and Sonorus to keep the hype up. Tickets are priced from $60 to $2,500. #6: Tanjong Beach Club


Welcome the new year with Tanjong Beach Club’s two-day beach shindig known as Brand New Day. It kicks off at 2pm with funk and soul master JNR TIRSO, who’s part of Singapore’s premiere hip-hop DJ collective Matteblacc. The fun continues with feel-good beach beats from percussionist Zulfahmi Othman all through the afternoon. The night begins with underground disco and 80s electro sound from Stephen Day and if you’re having a killer hangover the morning-after, nurse it with a hearty seaside brunch and a final dance-off before you head back to the daily grind. Tanjong Beach Club

#7: Get Juiced


If you’re hanging around the Clark Quay precinct on New Year’s Eve, drop by Singapore’s first ever cashless nightlife destination to welcome the new year. Known for its kitschy, 1960s New York back alley club aesthetics – think flickering neon signage and lipstick stained napkins – Lulu’s Lounge will be holding its first ever New Year’s Eve soiree known as The Scarlet Affaire. The immersive entertainment will begin at 9pm with a dramatic red carpet entrance. At 9pm on 31 December, the restaurant’s dining hall will transform into a glamourous masquerade gala featuring a five-course dinner. The dinner presents a choice of pan-seared wild catch seabass from Brittany served with yellow carrot puree, stewed lentils and caramelised baby eggplant, or 48 hours’ sous-vide Tajima wagyu beef short ribs with parsnip puree, glazed French chestnut and sauteed turnip top. #1: The Prudential Marina Bay Carnival


Occupying the 25,000 square metres of The Promontory and Bayfront event space is the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival. With more than 40 rides and games, this carnival will run from 15 December 2017 till 1 April 2018 daily from 4pm-11pm with a special exception on New Year’s Eve when it will start from 3pm to midnight, making it the best place to catch the fireworks. Free entry. The Promontory and Bayfront event space

#2: Esplanade Waterfront

Head to the outdoor concert venue for unblocked views of the fireworks, set against the gorgeous city backdrop. Free entry. Esplanade Waterfront
