horror film festival halloween

If you’re feeling lazy to dress up for Halloween this year or a little cash-strapped for Universal Studio Singapore’s annual Halloween shindigs, check out the Scream Queen FilmFest Tokyo. Founded in Tokyo in 2013, it’s an annual horror film festival that strives to support both established and young women filmmakers.

Not only is it the sole all-female film festival in Asia, it’s making its international debut right here in Singapore at indie favourite The Projector this year. Curated by festival founder Mai Nakanishi, there’ll be an opening film, a saucy ’60s-style flick titled Love Witch, as well as a series of short films playing from October 28 to 30.  If you’re into horror films and are feminist-inclined (or even if you’re not), snuggle down at The Projector’s comfortable beanbags and catch a film by a potential Tarantino in the making. Get your tickets($11.50-$13.50) here
