Philip Arctander’s sheepskin lounge chairs

Furniture shopping haunts “There are so many places that I go to for different things. My favourites: the Los Angeles-based Korean gallery Seomi for beautiful ceramics; Jacksons, which has galleries in Berlin and Stockholm, for Scandinavian furniture; and Nina Yashar’s gallery Nilufar in Milan for mid-century Italian pieces.”

Artist she’s into now “I really love the work of Italian artist/designer Andrea Anastasio, who works with glass to make vases with textile elements incorporated into them (think plastic shopping bags encased within the glass). The pieces are beautiful and unexpected.”

Maarten Baas dining chairs in every available hue

Latest investment “I bought a clay dining chair by Dutch designer Maarten Baas (known for fun, handmade furniture that defy conventions of how they should look). They come in different colours and I would love to have one of each.”

The Miss V is her idea of an everyday bag

Dream architect “I would get my boyfriend Edward Barber of London-based design studio Barber Osgerby to design my house. I love the firm’s architecture work – it’s modern and simple with a quirk. We’re looking for a new house now and I’m sure that whatever we find, we will transform together.”

Oyuna shawls are made of pure Mongolian cashmere

Travel must-haves “A shawl – I have a few from London-based Mongolian designer Oyuna Tserendorj, who specialises in super luxurious cashmere pieces, as well as I Pezzi Dipinti, a label by New Yorker Cathryn Collins, whose designs are also made of cashmere and hand-spun. I always travel with beauty cream and like to explore different brands. Recently, I’ve been into New York label Chantecaille for its all-natural products that smell amazing. And obviously, I can’t go anywhere without my phone and camera.”

Most beautiful hotel “I don’t usually like hotels that have been over designed. I like them simple and close to nature. In the city, I prefer places that feel traditional and have great service. The Grand Hotel Et De Milan is a good example.”

Why she digs the Miss Viv “I can only bring so many bags when I’m travelling, so I need pieces that are versatile, and the Miss Viv handbag is perfect: It’s understated, has slightly retro elements, yet is also feminine and modern. I especially love to pair it with more elaborate outfits. I also like the colours it comes in (the latest include pink, aqua, maroon and mustard).”
