As much a fashion fest as it is a pop cultural delight: The likes of Wolf Alice’s model-esque guitarist Joff Oddie with his trendy buzz cut (1); some of Singapore’s most stylish creative personalities such as crochet artist Kelly Lim (3) and rising model Mei Yue (2), hypnotic electro-pop duo Sylvan Esso (4); Bonobo’s chic and soulful vocalist Szjerdene (5), The Internet’s androgynous and multitalented Syd (7); and celebrated headliner Bonobo (11) lit up the stage. Off stage, the crowd was effortlessly cool (6, 8, 9 & 10).

Our answer to Coachella: Count on Laneway to feature the industry’s next big and most progressive names, which included genre-bending teen pop star Billie Eilish (16); hip-hop’s new prince Anderson .Paak (18); homegrown Pharrell-approved rapper Masia One (22); and Brit alt-rock band Wolf Alice – its slip dress-loving frontwoman Ellie Rowsell (15) is our new grunge idol. Meanwhile, festivalgoers (all other pictures) – who ranged from island to grandpa to Cobain chic – made it a fun hipsters convention.
