American sneaker brand Vans is throwing one big bash this Saturday, September 24 at the former Central Police Station (99 Beach Road) from 2pm till late. What to expect at the free event: Lots of skateboarding action, a showcase of local creatives’ artwork on Vans sneakers and an all-night-long concert featuring local and regional music acts.

#2: Kinkilicious: A Sundown Party Series

Singapore DJ collective Darker Than Wax will be getting the party started at Kinki.

Japanese bar Kinki (#03-02 Customs House) has teamed up with local DJ collective Darker Than Wax and Scottish whisky brand Johnnie Walker to throw its second edition of Kinkilicious this Saturday, September 24. On the agenda: Deep house, funk and electro by local DJ collective Darker Than Wax from 6pm onwards and one-for-one happy hour deals on selected beers and wines from 5pm to 8pm. Also up for grabs: The “Johnnie Ginger” cocktail, a specially concocted mix of ginger ale, lime and Johnnie Walker Gold, which will be priced at $16 nett all night.

#3: Gillman Barracks’ Art Day Out

Besides Supermama’s Porcelain Festival, which is opening on Friday at Gillman Barracks, the contemporary art enclave is also holding an Art Day Out this Saturday, September 24 from 2pm to 7pm. But don’t expect it to be all hoity-toity – the events lined up for the day include art and history tours; a photo exhibition by South African photographer Roger Ballen; and a farmers’ market which will also play catchy reggae and dancehall tunes. Admission is free.
