Whether or not you’ve already visited the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival that occupies the 25,000 square metres of The Promontory and Bayfront event space (if you have yet to visit it, we highly recommend you check it out), here’s another reason why you should head back next month. Singapore’s biggest carnival will be collaborating with urban lifestyle park GastroBeats from 9 March till 1 April, in conjunction with the i Light Marina Bay 2018, to give you an awesome adult playground of great music, food, and games.
GastroBeats, which debuted in i Light Marina Bay 2017, will be returning at the Promontory to create a neon playground for all food and music lovers to enjoy. Visitors can look forward to new activities such as LED-lit hula hoop stations, and glow-in-the-dark renditions of familiar games such as hopscotch, chess, tic-tac, Jenga, floor pong, twister and paintball.
Something else to look forward to is Sustainability Sundays at Terra Village, which will run on three consecutive Sundays from 18 March 2018. Terra Village will gather a community of crafters, designers and other creatives to encourage public consciousness in caring for our environment by allowing visitors to shop for earth-friendly products and participate in eco-craft workshops.
For those who enjoy keeping fit, a series of complimentary weekly mass workouts will be held in collaboration with Pure Fitness and Pure Yoga, as part of the Fitness by the Bay programme. For music-lovers, local acts like alternative rock band Cadence, indie-pop band M1ldlife and hip-hop collective Mediocre Haircut Crew will take the stage from Friday to Sunday to add to the electrifying atmosphere. Getting fit at a carnival with some sick beats? We are sold.
Another event we’re looking forward to is the annual Illumi Fest Run, which will be held 31 March. Participants will be splashed with glow-in-the-dark water as they experience various activity zones that include a giant Illumi slide and Illumi splash box.
The Prudential Marina Bay Carnival opens daily from 4pm to 11pm. Admission is free for all and credits for rides and games can be purchased on-site and online.
