Created by the folks behind Films At The Fort, Sunset Cinema brings a whole new dimension to your favourite weekend pastime – and gives you the perfect opportunity to bust out your new bikini at the same time.
Launched just this year, the event bills itself as a platform that maximises Singapore’s beautiful tropical evenings and will be screening a slew of award-winning recent releases – including ones that fashion fiends will appreciate – throughout the first half of May.
There are popular titles such as biographical drama film Jackie, comedy-drama Captain Fantastic and sci-fi flick Arrival, as well as other impactful movies: The Founder (about the man behind the McDonald’s fast food chain), Lion (a coming-of-age tale) and A United Kingdom (on the struggles faced by a bi-racial couple in 1947).
Other compelling reasons to consider heading down: This is Singapore’s first-ever silent cinema, which means that you’ll be using wireless noise-cancelling headphones to fully immerse yourselves in the film, sans distractions. And if you head down between 5pm to 7:30pm, you’ll be able to soak up the chilled-out atmosphere (thanks to laidback DJ mixes) and take advantage of its fully stocked bar before showtime.
Held at Sentosa’s Tanjong Beach, every ticket ($29.80) will entitle you to deck chair seating, as well as the use of said wireless headphones.
