If you love your acronyms, then it’s easy to remember the point of boutique festival Super 0 Openair, which is to showcase MAD: Music, Art, Design.
The one-day cultural bonanza is aligned with Singapore Art Week, and together with the Aliwal Urban Art Festival kickstarts a jammed week of full-on, creative fun. The fest includes the Super 0 x Tokyobike‘s ‘Art of Cycle’ (see their bikes re-interpreted by creatives), a debut solo show ‘Tropical Uncanny’ by Parisian photographer David Ledoux (Dazed & Confused, GQ), performance art spectacles by Adrian Pang’s Pangdemonium, gung ho fashion collective with a DIY Upcycling Sweatshop, and of course music, music, music.
The stage is also set for performances by The field, Scharre, Tom Sweeney, Ben Pearce and Tokimonsta (plus a whole lot more, obviously).
Local jocks include Zig Zach (who recently gave us a Playlist), Cats on Crack and Subvert HQ. And you can’t have a good, groovy event without vinyls: Tiong Bahru’s Curated Records will set up stall so you can browse and buy good old records. Hey kids, yes, records is a thing now. You’re also gonna need that other thingamagib to play it…it’s called a turntable. All that plus an Alchemy Garden by Reyka Vodka x Edible Gardens and it’s a day of guaranteed good fun. Get yours now.
