What: One of the biggest ever Virginia Woolf-themed exhibitions, held at the Tate St Ives museum – which recently reopened after an 18-month-long refurbishment – in England.
Why: Plenty of cultural reasons – from how the Tate St Ives is the new global must-visit art institution, what with its £20m (S$36.2m), 6,480 sq ft extension built dramatically into a cliff face, to how there’s no better venue for a show on Woolf, one of fashion’s most beloved literary figures. The charming seaside town is where she spent much of her childhood, and its influences show up in seminal works such as her 1927 novel To The Lighthouse. The exhibition itself will feature multi-disciplinary works from over 80 British and international artists that examine feminist themes expressed in her writings, another area particularly current and significant for the times.
