dior book assoulineWith The Dior & I documentary screening soon at A Design Film Festival Singapore, we think it timely to share luxury book publisher Assouline’s hardcover book on the French maison. Out this month, the latest edition, titled Dior: From Christian Dior to Raf Simons (S$357, www.assouline.com), recounts the growth of the House from its beginnings in 1947 at 30 Avenue Montaigne to the contributions made by various creative directors like Yves Saint Laurent and John Galliano and the runway shows throughout the decades.

Apart from the book’s updated cover design (the previous one was against a black background), its pages are now filled with over 150 images of beautiful Haute Couture dresses, alongside photographs by fashion photographers Irving Penn and Patrick Demarchielier of celebrity models in Dior, such as Suzy Parker and Kate Moss.
