All The Fun That Happened At Ion Orchard x Female's Fashion Flash Mob

How best do you celebrate an anniversary? The Female team and Ion Orchard went with a rather unconventional idea: A mall-wide flash mob that was high on the fashion - and fun - quotient.

Last Saturday evening, Ion Orchard celebrated its fifth anniversary in a big way, by bringing a runway show by way of a flash mob to the shopping crowd. While a marching military band played catchy pop tunes, 26 models worked the mall corridors and showcased Fall Winter ’15 pieces from brands like DKNY, Marc by Marc Jacobs and more. Here, a pictorial recap of all the fun that happened:

Blink and you’ll miss it: Real-life mannequins first made an appearance at Level 2 Ion Orchard, dressed in Bally and Dsquared2.

Another group of models – with glowing complexions and stylish ‘dos thanks to sponsors NEXT Hair Salon and YSL Beaute – wandered around the basement levels.

Pieces on show were from top fashion brands all available in Ion Orchard. In this photo: Sandro models rocking knee-high heeled boots and edgy bikers; Tyan boutique’s girly offerings; and slouchy, everyday attire from Calvin Klein Platinum.

As models from the “Barbie doll boxes” and those in the basement made their way to the first floor, local brass ensemble Brass Nation played pop tunes like Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars and kicked off the fashion show in the atrium.

The crowd was then led outside Ion Orchard for the fashion show finale: Models posing with huge block letters spelling out “FEMALE”.

The best way to end the night: With winning smiles and perfectly coiffed hair (plus the chance to admire gorgeous floral jacquard dresses from Carven up close).
