What: One of the latest additions to Celine’s Triomphe Canvas collection, the Ava shoulder bag takes cues from the French maison’s archives. Measuring in at a compact 23cm x 14cm x 7cm, the vintage-inspired, crescent-shaped pochette style bag features all the hallmarks of the collection, such as its monogram canvas and tan calfskin trimming. Topped off with a single-zip closure and sturdy leather strap, the Ava shoulder bag also doubles up as a hand-carry.

Lalisa Manoban of the K-Pop group Blackpink was spotted with this Celine archival piece last year and demand for the design surged online immediately after.

Why know it: First spotted on the arm of K-pop superstar Lisa of Blackpink last year, demand for the vintage design surged on the Internet immediately after photos of the star carrying it surfaced online. Now, Celine has introduced it exclusively for its Asian markets. The Ava shoulder bag is a nod to the recent resurgence of all things ’90s. For those easing into the trend, the bag’s no-frills design is one to consider  – cue Carrie Bradshaw and her cache of pochettes on Sex and the City. Priced at $1,550 a pop, it also makes for a great mid-level bag purchase from the Triomphe Canvas collection, alongside models like the drawstring bag and the small camera bag.

As of press time, the Ava shoulder bag is not available to shop in Singapore, but is set to arrive on our shores shortly. In the meantime, however, the rest of the Triomphe Canvas collection is shoppable via the brand’s convenient distant selling services. All you have to do is get in touch with Celine’s retail team at its Marina Bay Sands flagship (store_mbs@sg.celine.com / 6225-4705) or its Ngee Ann City store (store_nac@sg.celine.com / 6737-0511) and you’re good to go.
