Lifestyle store Weekends opens at VivoCity: It houses a total of 12 brands from Europe and America, ranging from Kate Spade’s girly notebooks and clutches to Jonathan Adler’s retro-modern homeware. We were there at its official opening and loved everything we saw, especially the cool balloon lamps, which adds a whimsical touch to home interiors (one roughly costs about $400). #B1-10 VivoCity

Steve Madden’s new VivoCity store: We hear they’re unveiling an exciting new store concept, but besides that, here’s another great reason to head down: For the brand’s collection of 90s-inspired platform sandals, wedges and neoprene sandals, designed in collaboration with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. #B1-04 VivoCity

Mikimoto flagship boutique’s official opening: The legendary jewellery brand, which was founded in 1858 and specialises in cultured pearls, officially opens its doors on April 28 with guest appearances by local singer Stefanie Sun and the brand’s President, Hitoshi Yoshida. The store has a private VIP room and is designed to look like an upscale gallery – definitely worth a visit. #02-04 Ion Orchard

New online boutique SocietyA debuts: This one-stop shopping site for up-and-coming Asian labels just held its official launch today. What to expect: 18 labels from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand and Korea such as contemporary local womenswear label Aijek and artsy Korean label Tibaeg. You’ll find everything from necklaces to tops, dresses and footwear here. For now, their brick-and-mortar store in Somerset only showcases their accessories and shoes. From $39 to $299 for accessories, $79 to $399 for clothing and $79 to $199 for shoes. #03-07 Orchard Gateway
