While pantsuits may be all the rage now, sometimes all you want to be is all-out girly and there’s nothing quite so feminine as a princess gown. Even if it isn’t the most modern or fashion-forward choice, it’s still an evergreen that lots of women have coveted at some point or other in their childhood.

Jennifer Lawrence

While former creative director Raf Simons’ version of Dior might not have been the best fit for Lawrence, the Passengers actress (and Dior ambassador) seems to have taken quite nicely to new creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri’s designs for the French house.

Camila Alves

Polka dots may not typically feature on red carpets but model Camila Alves makes an excellent case for them in Yanina Couture.

Felicity Jones

The Rogue One star is typically known for her love of demure, ladylike pieces and she doesn’t stray far from her usual modus operandi in another Dior outfit. But hey, when it ain’t broken…

Hilary Swank

While the Million Dollar Baby actress hasn’t been as active in her film career these days (hey, she’s already won two Best Actress Oscars), she still cuts an excellent figure, often turning to houses known for their classic looks, such as this nude, shimmery gown from Carolina Herrera.

Fan Bing Bing

Of course, any list would not be complete without Fan Bing Bing. China’s biggest actress is also one of the most fashion-loving, and while she loves to experiment with looks, at the end of the day, there’s nothing Fan loves more than a big fancy princess-y gown for her to make a, well, bang on the red carpet. While yellow is one of the hottest colours for Spring 2017, Fan’s Reem Acra number wins points for the unusual mellow yellow shade.

Emmy Rossum

The biggest Carolina Herrera fan of all (aside from Renee Zellweger) is of course, Emmy Rossum. You can see why the Shameless star chooses to remain loyal to the house when their relationship clearly works out so well every time. Gingham is another print that rarely makes a formal appearance but this strapless Carolina Herrera number is as chic as it is occasion-worthy.
