cinched waist trend

While most trends come and go, the clinch waist trend has never fallen out of favour and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon. The recent Dior Resort 2019 show proved that the only way you need to be wearing your chunky belts is right at your waist — and let’s not forget when Celine S/S’18 had them too. The silhouette enhancing trend is super easy to recreate, so we’ve listed our favourite street style looks to take inspiration from.

#1: Chunky Belts

This street style star went bold with her chunky belt choice, and we’re all for it. She opted for a coloured belt instead of the usual neutral and black belts, this creates a point of interest in her outfit. Our favourite part: She matched her belt perfectly with her oversized scarf.

#2:  Bold Brands

Whip out your branded belts from your closet and start throwing it over your outfit instead of belting it with your pants. This street style star wore her Dolce and Gabbana belt over her all-black ensemble — this not only flattered her silhouette but acted as a statement accessory to the outfit.

#3: The Fanny Pack

Clearly the fanny pack trend is still having its spotlight in the fashion game. Fashion blogger and renowned street style star, Chriselle Lim revisits the classic way of wearing the fanny pack — on the waist. She wears her chained bag over a matching suit for a masculine look.

#4: The Tiny Belt

Here’s one that all of us have in our closets, the tiny belt. The basic piece adds more shape to the street style star’s outfit, without bringing too much attention to it. Perfect if you don’t want to distract from the statement piece in your outfit.

#5: Animal Print

We’re digging this loud animal print get-up. Animal-inspired fashion is the hottest print for F/W’18, so if you’re bold with your fashion choices and want to stay on trend, pick up a snakeskin or leopard print belt to add a touch of fun to your get-up.

#6: Westernised Twist

This street style star paired a western-style belt with a urban chic outfit — we love the contrast.

#7: Blogger Style

The circle belt is uber common in the blogger scene and we totally get why – it’s a fun switch up from the typical buckle belt. What we love about this outfit is the recurring circle and black and white theme.
