Even if you aren’t necessarily into streetwear, you’d would have heard of Fragment Design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara – commonly acknowledged as the godfather of streetwear.

The legendary Japanese designer has influenced almost every aspect of contemporary streetwear culture for more than 30 years and his latest project sees him collaborating with Moncler (where he also heads up the Moncler Genius line 7 Moncler Fragment) and Converse on the latter’s Chuck 70 sneakers.

Dubbed the Converse X Moncler X Fragment Chuck 70, the model comes in two colourways – black and white – in a seemingly minimalist package. Take a closer look and you’ll notice subtle details such as stitched rectangles on the side and the upper rim painted black and emblazoned with text on both models.

Most notably, the heel tab includes the logos for both Moncler and Fragment Design – a wink for those in the know. Converse’s signature Chuck Taylor tab has also been modified to include Fragment Design’s lightning motif – a small but subtle design detail, like we said.

The Converse X Moncler X Fragment Chuck 70 ($169.90) drops Sept 3 at Converse’s Takashimaya S.C. store, as well as Dover Street Market Singapore, Limited Edt, Pedder on Scotts, and the Moncler flagship at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
