Russian skatewear brand PACCBET (founded by none other than one of the most highly revered streetwear fashion authority Gosha Rubchinskiy) has teamed up with American fashion label Carhartt WIP to create a 12 piece capsule collection.
Drawing its influence from the aesthetic of late 80s and early 90s skateboarding culture, as well as the oversized, boxy fits of Carhartt WIP’s earliest designs, the collection celebrates loose silhouettes and minimal graphics. While it’s meant to be a menswear line, we think the range’s relaxed, grunge-y silhouettes can be just as easily worn by women (especially those who dig streetwear).
Reworking a selection of Carhartt WIP’s iconic workwear-inspired styles, the collection comprises of t-shirts, sweaters, trousers and denim pieces. The Detroit Jacket has been created in a washed denim and given new, bolder proportions, while the humble Pocket T-shirt appears with co-branded Carhartt WIP and PACCBET detailing. The result is a range of ready-to-wear apparel which features familiar Carhartt WIP staples but reinterpreted through the eyes of Russia’s burgeoning skate scene.
The collection will be available at Dover Street Market Singapore and on the DSMS E-Shop on Wednesday, 24 January.
