We’ve raved about the pieces. And in our recent March issue, we’ve discussed why the new designers behind the brand – Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne – could just be what DKNY needs. Last night, we saw the duo’s debut outing in the flesh.
Held at Artspace@Helutrans, a warehouse building in Tanjong Pagar, the industrial and white-washed gallery was a perfect space to showcase the urban-meets-’90s power suits theme of the collection. The 30 looks that appeared was a study in pinstripes, de-constructed suits and shirt dresses and underscored the designer’s background in menswear.
The show, opened by local model Fiona Fussi, was big on youthful energy too. Amongst the guests in the front row: local actresses Fann Wong, Dawn Yeoh and Hayley Woo, as well industry tastemakers like our Female collective members Charmaine Seah, Aarika Lee and Nadia Rahmat.
