galvan london '90s slip dresses

Their MO? Minimalist cocktail pieces heavily influenced by ’90s fashion, especially that must-have piece of the decade, the slip dress.

It’s easy to see why Galvan’s pieces are a big hit with celebrities – they’re practically fool-proof and fit in perfectly with the ’90s revival that has been dominating fashion for the past 2 years or so.

We first noticed it at Cannes Film Festival, where Indian actress and new L’Oreal ambassador Deepika Padukone donned a dusky pink halter neck cocktail number to a daytime event.

Nor was Padukone the only celebrity to wear the label at Cannes – German supermodel Toni Garrn chose a daring one-shouldered gown for the premiere of the Sofia Coppola-directed film, The Beguiled.

Actress Jaime King had her Galvan piece in crushed velvet – another key trend this year.

If you’re someone who prefers prints, this piece, worn by English actress Talulah Riley, retains the brand’s signature DNA while introducing a dreamy floral print.

It’ll be interesting to see how the brand grows but in the mean time, we’re keeping watch on this red-hot label.
