If you’re a Riccardo Tisci fangirl, then you would know the designer is obsessed with American culture. Think gangsta Chola models for the brand’s Fall/Winter ’15 collection (below); moving the Givenchy show to New York Fashion Week this month instead of Paris; a new Madison Avenue flagship; and his love for basketball (RT Air Force Ones anyone?) and hip-hop.
For the brand’s newly opened Paragon store, though, Tisci stands by the brand’s Parisian roots. The spacious 3,100 sq ft space (more than half the size of its new Madison Avenue duplex) feels more like an art gallery thanks to its sleek, bright and minimalist look.
The main attraction: Three large burnt oak boxes (above) that house the men’s and women’s pret-a-porter collection (a large portion is now dedicated to menswear). They take their cues from the boxes Givenchy uses to deliver haute couture orders. Even the natural oak herringbone parquet is a throwback to the maison’s Avenue George V couture salons.
Our favourite design element? The Sivec marble herringbone floor tiles inside each box – we’re already taking notes for our next home decorating project. #01-41/42 Paragon Shopping Mall
