Halloween is officially over, so let’s pick through the best of this year’s crop – everyone’s been holding out for German supermodel Heidi Klum, who is usually the festival’s top overachiever (she’s been everything from a giant butterfly to Kali, the Indian goddess of destruction). Here are nine of the most memorable outfits of 2016 in no particular order:
Move over Tay Tay – there’s a new squad in town and it comprises of Heidi Klum as head cheerleader backed up by five of her clones.
While Klum has been dropping teases on Instagram, who would have expected her to go in the direction of clones this year (she was the reincarnation of fictional temptress Jessica Rabbit in 2015). While some may profess to be slightly disappointed, it just proves that Klum’s outfits are never going to be predictable.
Seriously giving Heidi Klum a run for her money, Katy Perry’s politically-timely costume reportedly took six hours for the extensive fake prosthetics to be put on before attending Kate Hudson’s Halloween bash.
All we can say is: It was well-worth the effort, especially with Perry’s beau Orlando Bloom hamming it up as well (no, he’s not Bill – he spoofed Donald Trump). We’re surprised she’s the only celebrity who thought of impersonating the two presidential hopefuls (outside of SNL’s parodies).
The Trainwreck comedian went with her partner Ben Hanisch (the latter dressed as the character Eleven from the same hit series Stranger Things, complete with nosebleed). It was very low-key and easily DIY-able, but with the series’ immense popularity currently, Schumer has our vote.
While the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan isn’t this writer’s favourite, you’ve got to give her props for coming as original bad girl Christina Aguilera – or rather, her alter-ego self Xtina from the early 2000s.
Designer Marc Jacobs is known to take to Halloween with enthusiasm. This year, he came in a female bodybuilder bodysuit complete with sky-high Louboutin heels and drag queen-esque makeup.
Supermodel Cindy Crawford and her entire family got together for a punk family portrait, and we must say that they looked the part – convincingly.
Teen Wolf star Colton Haynes channeled his inner porcine diva with a disturbingly realistic bosom.
Paris Hilton went the predictablly sexy route but gave it her own signature spin by including her infamous chihuahua as the “Little Bad Wolf”.
Veteran actress Midler cleverly referenced herself – she played the witchy Winifred Sanderson from the hit 1993 comedy-horror flick, Hocus Pocus – and eerily looked exactly the same as she did when the film debuted 23 years ago.
