From the sexy and glamorous Balmain tie-up last year to the more monochromatic Alexander Wang collection just two years before, H&M has always kept things exciting with their yearly designer partnerships. This year is no different, with Kenzo announced as H&M’s 2016 collaborator.

While there are not official campaign or lookbook images yet, expect the collection to be colourful and print-filled, a marked departure from the embellished jackets and sequinned separates that permeated Balmain’s 89-piece collection.

Kenzo’s creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon reveal in an exclusive interview with Vogue Runway that working with H&M felt like a good fit since “collaborations are part of our DNA through Opening Ceremony (which the pair also run)”. In the same interview, the pair mentions their plans to celebrate founder Kenzo Takada’s aesthetic in the collection, focusing on “(his) tactile approach to techniques and embroideries, embellishments.”

Kenzo x H&M will launch in Singapore on November 3. In the meantime, watch a teaser video below and stay tuned to this space for updates.
