Excluding Melania Trump’s Zara jacket fiasco, there’s always just been something cool about wearing items that seem to suggest “I do not care”. (Cue Jonah Hill who’s gone from slacker to everyday-man style icon with his routine of tie-dye tees, gym shorts and mismatched outers.) It partly explains fashion’s obsession with remaking plastic bags, paper lunch bags and striped market stall shoppers. Now, the next evolution of the mundane-carrier-made-good is here: drawstring pouches that take after those that hotels offer for carting dirty clothes around in.

Brands like Hermes, Saint Laurent and Sportmax all have their own plush renditions, while Gucci’s Alessandro Michele went so far as to replicate the one from Chateau Marmont — complete with its faun logo — in leather, simply because he loves it. Yeah, the man’s cool.
