By now, you’ll probably have heard that a new live-action version of Disney’s beloved Dumbo (1941) will be released this month, directed by Tim Burton. Coincidentally, if you’re an avid fan of Loewe, you might have noticed Dumbo making an appearance on a gingham suit while perusing the brand’s S/S’19 men’s collection last June. Now the brand has extended that with a capsule collection that stars the floppy-eared pachyderm across a series of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear pieces, as well as on Loewe’s signature Goya backpack and T Pouch.

And while the designs appear really adorable (we have our eye on the jacket), the Dumbo motifs are not merely printed on. For example, the ones that appear on the bags are created with a complex technique that combines both printing and marquetry — itself a highly intricate and time-consuming craft that looks like printing from afar, but is formed from the piecing together of different textiles to create a single new surface.

The collection launches Mar 29 in only 10 select locations around the world, including Singapore (Paragon). Heads up: if you’re a huge “Dumbo” fan, register online now at Loewe’s website for a chance to attend a pre-sale event at the Paragon store on Mar 28.

Prices are currently only available in HKD.
