The hurrah that greeted Louis Vuitton’s debut collaboration with American art world giant Jeff Koons (entitled Masters) was considerable – it was after all the first time the French maison has worked with Koons, who is known for his larger-than-size pop-meets-shock art.
For the second Masters collection, Koons has selected six esteemed artists and an iconic work that best represents them – Claude Monet (Water Lilies), Édouard Manet (Luncheon on the Grass), Paul Gauguin (Delightful Land), J.M.W. Turner (Ancient Rome), Francois Boucher (Reclining Girl) and Nicolas Poussin (The Triumph of Pan).
Collectors of the series will want to take note that Poussin’s The Triumph of Pan series will be exclusive to the newly opened Maison Louis Vuitton Vendome in Paris.
Each artist’s works are printed across some of Louis Vuitton’s most endearing designs – such as the Speedy, Keepall, and Neverfull, with their name emblazoned in gold lettering, while Koons’ initials and Louis Vuitton’s monogram can be found at the side.
And now, the big question is, when can you get your hands on this high art-meets-fashion collaboration? The collections hits Louis Vuitton stores worldwide on October 27. Here, the best pieces in each artist’s series:
