There are camera bags — named for their handy shape and size, and ever so trendy now. Then there’s the camera bag that’s become so hot, it’s spawned a whole line of other styles that are not camera bags but still score an “A” for easy chic. Here, snapshots of Marc Jacobs’ snapshot — the brand’s most popular bag now — and how it’s evolved for F/W ’18.
The one that started it all: the Snapshot was an instant hit when it debuted in F/W ’16 with its compact design that includes a pocket on the back, and Instagram-worthy combination of colours and patterns. This season, it comes in neons as well as rich Fauvist hues, while the straps on some sport bold, gold pyramid studs — a nod to the brand’s ’80s-inspired runway show.
The Hip Shot is its elegant cousin with a chain shoulder strap, and can be transformed into a polished belt bag by sliding in the accompanying webbing strap.
The Little Big Shot sees the Snapshot’s distinctive double “J” hardware adapted onto a sophisticated structured tote that’s serious enough for work, yet still makes you seem like the fun one with its small size, detachable webbing strap and colour blocking.
The Pack Shot is easily the most youthful style in the family — and not only because it’s the newest addition: an XS backpack (it’s 24.5cm tall) in punchy Keith Haring-esque colours that amp up its ’80s street vibe,
