Melissa Shoes' Upcoming Designer Collaboration Is Chic, Cool And Wearable

From Balenciaga’s tie-up with Net-A-Porter to skatewear brand PACCBET’s partnership with Carhartt WIP, there has been a string of fashion collaborations industry insiders and aficionados alike have been going crazy over – and it doesn’t stop there. Eco-friendly Brazilian shoe label Melissa Shoes has just announced an exciting collaboration with New York-based luxury fashion label Baja East. The collection comprises of four different footwear styles – a flat slide, flat sandal, chunky high-heeled mule, and a closed-toe, lace-up ankle “desert” boot – as well as a drawstring bucket bag that comes in three different colours.

The collection first made its debut at the fashion house’s New York Fashion Week runway show, held at Melissa’s new experiential “Galeria” in SoHo. Models were styled in the label’s new ready-to-wear pieces, which was then complemented with the collaborative collection’s footwear and bags. The collection combines the aesthetic of both fashion brands and is a series of accessories that are bold and edgy yet still very wearable. Here, we give you a sneak peek of the pieces to cop once it comes to Singapore in March.

#1: Melissa Bag + Baja East, $225
Each bucket bag comes with a smaller pouch to store essentials such as your keys. What else we love: the pretty pastel pink colour that girly girls will seriously dig. #2: Melissa Beach Slide + Baja East, $115
Unlike the other shoes, which come in three different colours (metallic gold, powder pink and black), these slides are available in monochromatic hues accented with a shade of darker blue. #3: Melissa Cosmic Python + Baja East, $135
Perfect for any beach festival or island getaway, these sandals are ultra comfy and ups your style cred too. Bonus: they are waterproof. #4: Melissa Python Heel + Baja East, $180
Up your glam factor at any beachside restaurant or dinner date with these pairs of heeled mules. #5: Melissa Desert Boot Python + Baja East, $180
Each shoe is accented by the addition of a plastic python-embossed texture on its upper. Like this? Check out Uniqlo’s latest limited edition collection, all the cool ways to rock platform heels this season and the pumped up Resort ’18 pieces to wear now.
