While there are more and more sustainability-minded independent labels popping up these days, the fact is that most sustainable experts in the fashion scene will tell you that practicing a more thoughtful approach to consumerism (evaluate what you really need instead of want) and most of all, making use of what is already existing (instead of buying new), are the most optimal options.

To that end, it’s no wonder the fortunes of pre-owned designer goods specialist Vestiaire Collective and similar platforms have soared and continues to do so (though we’re quite aware that people aren’t necessarily buying into these platforms with sustainability as their top priority).

The French company, known for its reliability – each piece is scrutinised by experts before it’s posted for sale – turns 10 this month. To celebrate this milestone, it’ll be releasing 100 “desirable pieces” from some of 2019’s most sought-after brands.  And each of these 100 pieces will be going for two euros each; yes, that’s right – per item, not “starting from” two euros.

To get in on this bonanza (it starts Nov 8 – 12), pay close attention to Vestiaire Collective’s social media, where clues will be scattered. Details on which brands and product categories are being kept under wraps at time of writing but to put things into perspective, the most popular item on Vestiaire Collective in 2019 is the Dior Saddle bag, according to their press release. There will be menswear pieces up for grabs too, if that’s your thing.

Going by the pictures alone, we’re seeing Jacquemus, Loewe, Prada, Vetements, Off-White, Fendi, Celine, Dior – undoubtedly more will be available. Head here for more details on how you can participate.
