50 shades in every imaginable hue on Adidas Originals’ Superstar sneakers are available now.
Yes, you read that right: 50 shades. The German sportswear brand has produced one winning collaboration after another (previous partnerships involved American rapper Kanye West and Dior’s creative director Raf Simons), and their latest one is American singer-songwriter Pharrell’s second tie-up with the brand (the first was a collection of polka-dotted Stan Smith shoes and track jackets).
Here, one solid colour is applied over the entire leather upper top (even the shoelaces are the exact same shade), with the word “equality” imprinted on one of the iconic stripes on its side, while the soles depict a quirky graphic of our body anatomy (if you’re into, you know, foot reflexology). For Pharrell, this design embodies the spirit of individuality: “Everybody will be able to select his or her colour… And with every shoe treated the same, all colours are equal”.
All 50 colourways ($149 each) in men and women’s sizes are exclusively available at the adidas Originals’ Pacific Plaza store and online, while selected pieces will retail at Limited Edt stores (313@Somerset, Marina Bay Sands, JEM and Queensway Shopping Centre).
