All The Most Outrageous Looks From The Met Gala 2017

#1: Zoe Kravitz
The American actress looks gorgeous in this off-shoulder, pink and black Oscar de la Renta gown, with the floor-grazing cape adding just the right amount of drama. Bonus points for her short blond crop which adds some of her signature edge to this elegant look.   Image: Vogue UK #2: Karlie Kloss
The leggy supermodel seems to have taken an unconventional turn this year – instead of dressing up according to the theme, the 24-year-old channels Rei Kawakubo and her signature do with her new platinum blond crop. Coupled with the smart blazer-dress get-up and classic Louboutin pumps, we’ll give an A for the creativity.   Image: Vogue UK #3: Kim Kardashian
Kim K has thrown us off with her outfit this year, as surprisingly, she seems to be the classiest of the Kardashian clan this time (see next slide). While we can’t help but feel the 36-year-old is a tad bit underdressed for this year’s theme – we would have loved to see something completely outrageous from her – this minimal Vivienne Westwood frock is a refreshing change of pace for her.   Image: Vogue UK #4: Kendall Jenner
Honestly, we have no idea what is going on with this look – is the model just trying to win the who-wears-the-least-fabric award? This La Perla ‘gown’ might have been best reserved for the bedroom, but perhaps the one thing that we are most annoyed by is that this look does not seem to pay homage to the theme at all.   Image: Vogue #5: Riley Keough
One of the few celebrities who actually managed to pull off the Commes des Garcons theme without wearing the brand, the American actress looked like a modern warrior in this custom Louis Vuitton sequin dress complete with red racer stripes and heavy chain trim. We heartily approve.   Image: Vogue UK #6: Katy Perry
As the co-host and co-chair of the lavish evening, we have to give mad props to the American singer for sticking to the spirit of Comme des Garcons – the red tulle is a signature of Kawakubo’s after all, even though the 32-year-old is wearing a custom Maison Margiela gown by John Galliano. It might not be our favourite look of the evening, but we’ll applaud Perry for her efforts.   Image: Vogue UK #7: Cara Delevingne
We are pleasantly surprised by this futuristic look from the British model. The head-to-toe metallic, comprising of her freshly shaved head painted silver (which reminds us of a swimming cap, or a mannequin), body glitter, a structured pantsuit from Chanel and pointed-toe silver pumps, is reminiscent of a galactic alien which is pretty appropriate for the actress’ upcoming sci-fi flick, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The American singer-songwriter seldom disappoints us on the red carpet with her daring style, and this time it’s no different. The 30-year-old is wearing head-to-toe Thom Browne, and though we love every single part of this look (check out those shoes that look like ice skates), the star of the show is undoubtedly the puffer coat with its long train that looked incredible on the steps of the Met.   Image: Vogue UK #9: Madonna
Try as hard as we might to like this camouflage Moschino frock on Madonna, we can’t – the fit of the dress is just so terrible that it distracts from everything else. Sorry, but this look is just not working for us.   Image: Vogue UK #10: Rihanna
Of course, we can’t end off this post without talking about RiRi. The singer seems to be channeling early Bjork with her makeup, while donning a gravity-defying look from Comme des Garcons and her Rihanna Loves Chopard jewelry. Trust RiRi to stick to the theme and serve up one of the most outrageous looks of the evening – which is the whole point of the Met Gala, and something a lot of the other stars could learn from.   Image: Vogue UK Like this?
