Why Sansa Stark's Real-Life Alter Ego Sophie Turner Is The True Game Of Thrones Style Queen

Stand aside Cersei Lannister and Daenerys Tagaryen: Sansa Stark actress Sophie Turner is the real hit with the fashion crowd.

Game of Thrones returns for its seventh season next Monday morning and I’m sure many people are eagerly awaiting the broadcast – I for one, am planning to have a GoT binge this weekend for a refresher.

While Sansa Stark might not be the queen (Cersei, played by Lena Headey) or queen-to-be (Danaerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke), her real-life alter ego, Brit actress Sophie Turner, 21, has become a favourite with the fashion crowd – especially with Louis Vuitton, where she is one of the main faces of the house’s Fall 2017 ad campaigns.

Game of Thrones aside, Turner looks set to be bigger than ever on the big screen – she played psychic mutant Jean Grey in last year’s X-Men: Apocalypse and will return for the role in 2018’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Turner’s also in the latest issue of W magazine, where fellow actor (Jughead in Riverdale) and millennial (he’s 24) Cole Sprouse shot a beautiful series of her.

The main cast is also on the cover of the latest issue of Time magazine:

Brit fashion photographer Miles Aldridge said he was inspired by The Last Supper for composition and referenced the late Cy Twombly for the lurid colour palette.

Turner was dressed in a vibrant Gucci Resort 2017 look and made to look particularly doll-like, with a half-eaten apple in her hand. Could it be an allusion to Snow White?

She’s also a favourite with one of fashion’s most celebrated designers – Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere – frequently donning a wide variety of looks from the latest collections.

In real life, Turner’s appearances are a complete 180 from Sansa Stark’s medieval garb – she often favours directional looks from Nicolas Ghesquiere that do not pander to the more traditionally princess-y gowns that young starlets typically favour.

But even when she’s not in Vuitton, Turner tends to slay the red carpet (like how she did Ramsay Bolton in season 6, perhaps?) – as exampled in this vampy Balmain number she wore to the premiere of X-Men: Apocalypse.
