Last November, the actress/singer made a welcomed return after a 3 months respite from public appearances at the American Music Awards – then, she turned up in a simple A-line satin Prada gown that did come across as a little princess-y but on the whole, she looked healthy and radiant.

It was probably around 2015 when Gomez hired super-stylist Kate Young – who also styles the likes of Dakota Johnson, Margot Robbie and Natalie Portman to switch up her formerly child-like image.

Key looks such as this Ulyana Sergeenko look for the City of Hope gala were memorable – Gomez looked provocative (but not trashy, there’s a fine line) and more grown up than before.

Gomez has since gone on to bigger things this year – she’s the current cover girl of US Vogue’s April issue (a major coup for any celebrity) and has also recently been announced as Coach’s newest face.

Suitably, Gomez has been looking a lot sleeker and polished of late. Here, we take a look at some of her best looks in recent months:

Opting for a chic Victoria Beckham pre-fall 2017 look, she paired it with leopard print Gianvito Rossi strappy sandals. While I wish her hair had been styled to look more slicked back a la the model’s, there’s no doubt that it was a very stylish look for Gomez and it’s perfectly on spot with one of Fall 2017’s biggest trends – colour blocking.

While round sunnies have been back for awhile now, the intense red hue of Gomez’s version is very ’90s – in a good way. (FYI – Prada did red round sunnies way back in Fall 2012 for their men’s collection  – could it be a trickle down effect?) Her streetwear game is equally strong and similar to the styles pushed by Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin etc etc now but feels more balanced with a good mix of ladylike and high street elements.

Gomez took a slightly more directional look in a Proenza Schouler Spring 2017 look – it’s a more fashion-fashion kind of look that models usually look best in but she managed to put a more ladylike spin and made it her own.

For casual day-to-day looks, Gomez toned down on the “lady” and went for a more youthful vibe. With such cute pieces like Coach’s Rexy sweater and a denim overall (so OshKosh B’Gosh!), it’s a good reminder that she’s still only in her early 20s.

Even Gomez has hopped onto the bob trend – she sported a sleek new version for Vogue’s 73 Questions Q&A video – and paired with that red sweater, it was almost as if she’s the modern take on iconic ’90s TV series, Sabrina The Teenage Witch. And that’s not a bad thing at all.
