Cartier has announced that it will launch a small leather goods range for its popular Guirlande De Cartier bag collection which is fashioned after the iconic red boxes of the jewellery maison. But fans of the collection might need to wait till February 2020 before this series of cardholders, wallets, wristlets and pouches hits stores here. In the meantime, the brand has dropped a nano-sized of the Guirlande De Cartier – a.k.a. its smallest size ever measuring 19.5cm long by 12cm high and 4.7cm deep – adding to the current range which is available in mini, small and medium models. NO PUFF PIECE
Moncler has unveiled a unisex down jacket that takes its carbon footprint seriously. Named Bio-Based, the jacket is exclusively available in an inky shade of blue and boasts a nylon fabric and details like zips, buttons and drawstrings are made completely from castor beans. Harvesting the plant is said to have no adverse effect on human and animal food chains as they are not a food source and thrive in dry areas. The jacket also contains recyclable components that are made from raw materials from renewable sources and are fossil-free. To amp up the eco factor, the emissions produced during the manufacturing of the jacket are offset with efforts to protect and develop forests. A KICKSTART

CROWN JEWELS
Footwear label Roger Viver has launched its first jewellery collection – just in time for those seeking dramatic holiday bijoux. True to creative director’s Gherardo Felloni maximalist style, the collection of chokers, earrings, hair clips and bracelets prominently features glamorous crystal-studded buckle motifs. Among them is the Broche buckle which was first introduced in Felloni’s Spring/Summer 2019 shoe collection. Two new buckle designs also make their debuts in this costume jewellery outing. The first is the Brochamour buckle which takes its cues from an archive shoe design with a heart pattern. The other is the floral-shaped Bouquet Strass buckle which is inspired by Felloni’s passion for antique jewellery.
