Five of our favourite releases to snag before they're gone.
Monogram fever is not fading anytime soon and Louis Vuitton continues to build up the hype with a new experimental LV motif. Its summer collection, out in stores now, features leather goods which mash up both the XL- and miniature-sized iconic pattern in one design. Among the items are a bum bag ($2,700) and a new On-the-go tote (above, $3,250) which is inspired by the Louis Vuitton Sac Plat from 1968. Completing the play on contrast are colourways like pink and green and orange, red and pink, and khaki and beige. FANTASTIC CREATURE
Unlike the Jurassic Park franchise, Coach‘s T-rex mascot Rexy keeps getting better each season. Spanish shoe brand Pretty Ballerinas is no stranger to the customisation game. So it’s about time that it’s finally offering a customisation service for one of its most popular style — the Moroccan-inspired Ella — from April 25-April 28. Available as babouche slippers or pointed toe loafers, customers can choose from an array of over 90 fabrics, 70 ribbon trimmings and opt for tassels in three different shades. Each design (from $320) will be assembled in Menorca, Spain and takes about two months to complete. Just enough time if you’re thinking of getting a new pair of vacation shoes for that June holiday. SO FLY
The sublime portraits of birds by British photographer Luke Stephenson in the photo series An Incomplete Dictionary of Show Birds was so good, Dries Van Noten decided to base his colour palette and feathered designs for his S/S ’19 collection on the photographer’s work. But the inspo doesn’t end there. Starting today, the label is launching a limited edition line of unisex cotton shirts ($1,090) bearing prints from the Stephenson’s series. Consider this the ultimate fan art. CARTOON PLANET
Fans of the Furla and Hello Kitty collaboration last year will be glad to know that the tie-up is back for a second instalment launching April 15. This time, My Melody (the popular bunny from the Sanrio universe) will make an appearance alongside the feline character for a series of crossbody bags, pouches, cosmetic cases and silk twillies. To complete the futuristic/sci-fi theme, the brand’s boxy Metropolis crossbody bags feature a leather finish in dreamy pearlescent effect. While the prints used on the designs include My Melody sitting on the rings of Saturn surrounded by constellations.
