No one throws a livelier, more oestrogen-charged party than this two-year-old DJ collective, whose cred keeps rising. Already a hit with its monthly nights at Zouk’s Wine Bar (on every first Friday, it puts the spotlight on female talents), the trio made their Zoukout debut at the club’s mega dance festival on Dec 11 and 12.

Known for their riotous sets that flit between house, hip hop, drum and bass, jungle and a side of Mariah Carey (read: expect lots of dancing), the girls admit that dressing comfortably is a priority. That doesn’t mean they skimp on attitude though. Syaheedah, a curatorial assistant by day, can’t live without sneakers, which she pairs with minimalist dresses and a statement necklace – a look that takes her effortlessly from night to day. Ang – a member of the F-collective – gives street-influenced all-black looks an edge with her Bettie Page bangs, a high ponytail and dark lips; while Ong (DJ alias: DuriO) is like her quirky twin – think shorts with an attached harness and a beanie with mesh.
On dressing up like a girl group, Ang says: “Each of us has a different style… but if we had to dress in theme, we would probably go for all-black and sleek.” Syaheedah adds: “And there’ll definitely be a femme fatale vibe – like the Powerpuff Girls 2.0.”
