Homegrown womenswear label Rye, which was founded in 2016 and is stocked at stores such as Design Orchard and Badt and Co., has opened its first standalone boutique. Located in Cluny Court in Bukit Timah, the store is designed to engulf you in an oasis of calm – achieved with its clean, minimalist colour palette, natural materials (think textured clay walls and marble countertops) and plants.
The retail space offers shoppers a sort of escape from the chaos of life with its simple interiors; further expounding on Rye’s philosophy of “less is more”.
“After six years, we felt it was time for us to create a dedicated experience and space we could call our own and share with the women of Rye,” says the brand’s founder and head of design Bessie Ye. The 27-year-old – whose experience includes interning for esteemed fashion designer Akira Isogawa – started the fashion brand on the basis of offering modern women intellectually-designed pieces that transcend trends and time.

Besides stocking pieces from the Summer 2022 collection, shoppers can also get their hands on the brand’s recently launched lifestyle offering: a water bottle and a specially-commissioned carrier made in collaboration with China- and Singapore-based weave specialist Tanchen Studio that can be bought individually. Previously, these items could only be bought via the Rye e-store as a set that includes stickers and a biodegradable storage box.
You’ll find some charming designer furniture sprinkled throughout the store, including a Tekiō paper lamp, Giancarlo Piretti’s Alky leather chair (above), and local lifestyle brand Tanchen Studio’s Lop–Stone wool rugs.
The store is located at #02-03 Cluny Court and daily from 10am to 7pm.
