Singapore Fashionista Guan Min Shares Her Favourite Party Looks
In our annual round-up of creative tastemakers and their festive fashion antics, we get social media starlet Guan Min to break down her party essentials.

She might live life in monochrome on her Instagram feed (@girlwhocriedwolf), but this style star/F-collective member is not averse to getting her glitter on for Christmas. “Sequins – I’m always in sequins every holiday season,” says the devotee of online stores Fashion BNKR, Shopbop and Nastygal. “I’ll also definitely be rocking an intense smoky or glittery eye. I’ve been experimenting with more audacious makeup recently, and the festive season is a great excuse to try them out.”
The 27-year-old might have recently closed her popular women’s label Feist Heist (“retail is getting so competitive, and it’s not easy balancing commercial and creative needs”), but she still has plenty of reasons to stand out. In October, she inked a deal with American digital lifestyle network Endemol Beyond to start her own fashion and beauty channel on Icon Asia. The latter is the regional arm of Youtube sensation Michelle Phan’s multi-platform video network (co-created by Endemol), which launches this month.
Then, of course, there’s the fact that she’s a self-declared party girl with a penchant for bold accessories. (The armour-like necklace she has on here is from a stall in Bangkok’s Chatuchak Market that specialises in elaborate, one-of-a-kind jewellery.) She describes her fantasy party look: “It would involve a lot of leather, fur, and a crazy headpiece like the feathered Gareth Pugh headdress Anna Dello Russo wore to the Vogue Paris masquerade ball in 2010… It’s fine to go OTT. Just keep things tasteful and know that hair and makeup play an important part too.”
