Surrender Has A Whole Slew Of Cult Label Pop-Ups And Exclusive Drops You Won't Want To Miss

To mark the expansion and revamp of their 268 Orchard Road address, the Singapore multi-label store has a series of ephemeral events and launches you won't want to miss.

Singapore’s a small island — the well-curated fashion multi-label stores on our shores need little introduction. Surrender for one, has made known their niche with an offering of need-to-know buzzy brands tempered with respected veterans (Neighbourhood, WTAPS, Visvim). And as they’re due to unveil the expansion and revamp of their store on Orchard Road, they’ve lined up a whole host of events to celebrate the affair; pop-ups by up-and-coming designers, a book signing event with Japanese model Akimoto Kozue, an archival Raf Simons exhibition and, the debut of new labels they’ve just inducted into their portfolio.

Above, the pop-ups to shop and activities to head down for.

Meet-and-Greet with Kozue Akimoto
The Japanese model is quite the fixture at the international fashion weeks, and has graced the covers of magazines the likes of Vogue Taiwan and BAZAAR China. On occasion of the launch of her second book, Kozue 2017-2018 — a compilation of her travel adventures and plus works of photographers and writers — she’ll be down at Surrender Store for a meet-and-greet cum book signing session. To attend, regram this Surrender Instagram post and hashtag #KozueXSurrender. When: 6.00pm till 7.00pm, Sept 18   Raf Simons Exhibition
Raf Simons is one of the rare contemporary designers whose past season items command inflated prices as they change hands on the second hand market. His fans are diehard, and garments treated as collectibles. Surrender has a 50-piece archival Raf edit amassed over the years, and they’re opening it up for viewing by the public — as well as having selected pieces up for sale. When: Sept 18 – 20. Mayhem Pop-Up
Mayhem, the streetwear label by fashion It girl Rigel Davis, is to retail at Surrender for three days only — expect a wearable selection of printed T-shirts, hoodies, ball caps and jackets. When: Sept 18 – 20 SOTTES Debut Collection
You have up-and-coming designers, and then you have the ones so fresh that they’re only embarking on their first retail drop. SOTTES, a conscious Swiss fashion label that makes clothing from recycled fabrics, is doing so with Surrender; expect an extremely small edit, plus “size-less” and “genderless” cuts and fits. Launch date: Sept 18 Reve By Rene 5 Senses Collection
If the brand sounds familiar, it’s because they’ve previously done pop-ups in Singapore. Known for their directional eyewear, Reve By Rene will be launching the 5 Senses collection at Surrender. Expect on-trend micro frames and colour-tinted lenses. Launch date: Sept 18 Alanui, new to Surrender
You can pretty much put a finger on the inspiration behind Alanui, what with the aztec trimmings on these cardigans, spliced with badass animal prints. One half of the duo, Carlotta Oddi is the fashion editor of Vogue Japan and together with her brother Nicolo launched the brand in 2016 — quickly becoming a favourite amongst the fashion set. Now, debuting at Surrender. Launch date: Sept 18 Daniel Patrick, new to Surrender
The streetwear purveyor to celebrities like Kendrick Lamar, Hailey Baldwin and Kylie Jenner, Daniel Patrick wares are downright wearable. Think: boxy crop tops, side-striped track pants and denim shorts. Launch date: Sept 18 Rokh, new to Surrender
Seoul-born but London-based designer Rokh Huang has a knack for elevating the everyday piece. Blazers, midi-length skirts and trousers are treated to the cut-and-sew technique, and given quotidian details in the most unexpected places. Launch date: Sept 18
