UPDATED: The Female guide to the best shopping fun this month in Singapore.
Saint Laurent’s end-of-season sale: Because who doesn’t love Hedi Slimane? If you’re a fan (like we are) of his sexy ’70s-inspired pieces for Spring/Summer ’15, selected ready-to-wear and accessories are going for up to 40 per cent off from June 5. Note: This will only be held at the Marina Bay Sands store as their Ion store is currently under renovation. #B2-32/33 The Shoppes At Marina Bay Sands
CMG Designers Pop-Up at Paragon: Dig Paris-based label Maison Margiela and its diffusion line MM6’s understated cool? Head down to Paragon to shop sale items from these two brands, as well as British footwear brand Kurt Geiger, Dutch casual fashion label Scotch & Soda, British cult beauty brand Illamasqua and American menswear label John Varvatos. Score an additional 10 per cent off after purchasing three pieces, and 20 per cent off with a purchase of six items. #02-46/47 Paragon
Goldheart Jewelry’s GSS promos: The local jewellery label launches all-new designs that are going at special rates for the sale period (from now till end-July). We’re eyeing these new Colourella rose gold earrings ($1,078 per pair) bearing various gemstones, from purple amethyst to blue topaz and red rholodite – the outer ring of diamonds is detachable so you can wear just the stones within for a touch of colour on your earlobes. Now that’s one value-for-money buy. #B2-65 Ion Orchard
Robinsons’ GSS offers: The department store that’s home to (from left) Brazilian footwear label Schutz, French diffusion line Paul & Joe Sister and the Olsen twins’ contemporary womenswear label Elizabeth & James has lined up pretty sweet deals for shoppers. Women’s shoes and accessories are going for up to 50 per cent off, while regular-priced items for womenswear are going for up to 70 per cent off. In the beauty section, get $10 off with every $100 nett purchase of fragrances in a single receipt. Robinsons The Heeren, Robinsons Raffles City & Robinsons JEM
Kapok’s online exclusive: The downpours we’ve been having pretty much spell out the need for a new sweater – or two. Hip multi-label store Kapok (their National Design Centre store is pictured above) was founded by French-born, Hong Kong-based Arnault Castel (read our interview with him here). It’s now offering 20% off knitwear, coats and jackets for both menswear and womenswear on its online store, from brands like French labels Maison Kitsune and Carven. All you need to do: Key in the code “may20” when you cart out.
Uniqlo’s Scratch & Win deal: The mechanics are simple – spend $30 nett in a single receipt, get a Scratch & Win card, find two matching card results and be the lucky ones who’ll snag special treats like a linen dress, a pair of movie tickets, or – better yet – a pair of tickets to Hokkaido, Japan. At all Uniqlo stores except Changi Airport Terminal 1.
Gala x Superga: Not a sale but a cool new collaboration by the Italian sneaker brand. This time, it’s with Spanish blogger Gala Gonzalez, and the May 30 launch will see six brand new designs ($120-$170) applied onto its iconic 2750 sneakers. The raffia uppers’ detailed weave patterns pay tribute to traditional Spanish weaving techniques, and they also come with smaller eyelets and finer laces. Exclusively available at #B2-04 Wheelock Place and online.
New jewellery e-tailer Jemsa debuts: We were first introduced to the local online jewellery store a few weeks ago and liked their simple, elegant pieces. Another big draw: Everything is priced affordably here (from $19 for a bangle to $165 for a necklace). Now that they’ve officially launched their online shopping site, they’ve also included a discount code (FE10EA) which entails shoppers to 10 per cent off from now till June 30. www.jemsa.com.sg
