For the Valentino Rendez-Vous Collection Spring/Summer 2022 show last Oct, the Italian brand seated guests on cafe chairs, complete with bistro tables inside the Carreau du Temple.
The covered market in Paris’ 3rd arrondissement was the stage for a stunning couture-inspired collection that creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli conceived for daily life and the real world. Think delicately embroidered taffeta shirts worn with baggy jeans and an opera coat or tailored shorts either constructed in structured couture fabric or adorned with delicate marabou feathers.
Valentino’s Rendez-Vous pop-up experience at Merci Marcel features a three-course meal.
Flash forward to this month, and Valentino is reviving that Rendez-Vous experience at the Carreau du Temple right here in sunny Singapore. From March 1 to March 14, the brand is hosting a pop-up at the Club Street outpost of French bistro Merci Marcel which will run from 8am to 10:30pm daily.
Valentino’s two week-long pop-up cafe at Merci Marcel sees co-branded designs on napkins and cup sleeves.
Interested diners can book a table at Merci Marcel and dig into the specially-curated menu by Valentino which includes dishes such as Tarte Flambee pizza with goat cheese, kale, shallots and sunflower seed as well as the Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio. The three-course menu is priced at $80++.
As for the dress code, you can always keep it casual. But why not take cues for the Rendez-Vous collection to complete the full Valentino experience?
