#1: The stunning venue
Held on Wednesday, Jan 11 at the recently refurbished Beekman Hotel in New York on Thursday , the ornately designed balconies in the atrium lent an air of grandeur to Valentino’s romantic looks.
#2: The “nightgown” dress
Whether they had a pussybow or an embroidered collar, the billowy, floor-grazing silhouettes and pyjama sets Piccioli sent down the “runway” were a nod to fashion’s continued obsession with lounge-worthy pieces.
#3: The floral collar
Flowers served as a reflection of Piccioli’s optimistic attitude throughout, but our favourite detail was the tiny red roses dotting the edges of collars on certain looks. One would’ve thought it would be overkill, but they contributed to the youthful, girly air of the pieces instead of diluting it.
#4: The plush minaudiere
The sleek, modern C-shaped handle, combined with its furry exterior, made this a suitably understated evening accessory.
#5: The sneakers
There are the mainstream designs, and then there are the fashion-forward (read: outre) ones. Valentino’s fell nicely in between, which makes them all the more covetable.
