If there is one thing this magazine is good at, it would be forecasting the next big thing. And when it comes to music, British singer Dua Lipa is it. For our newly released July issue, the 21-year-old graced the cover in Chanel and posed for an inside spread which pays homage to her style obsession: the ’90s.
Shot in May during her trip here to promote her namesake debut album, Lipa’s fame lies beyond just her 1.5 million following on Instagram (it was 1.1 million at the time of our shoot) and the fact that her career trajectory has been Bieberan in nature (read: like the Biebs, she’s a Youtube discovery).
Or the fact that we foresee her to be a Fashion Week fixture (Alexander Wang‘s a fan). Her vocal chops and amount of soul in her voice that belie her age is enough to make her the next millennial music royalty.
