Airline strikes are usually the most common type of news to happen during the fashion week calendar in Paris. But at the recent haute couture shows in the French capital, there was a more positive connection to the airline industry.

Beijing fashion designer Laurence Xu, who has been gaining a following among the couture pack since his Parisian debut in 2013, showcased a number of looks he had created specially for Hainan Airlines. Just like his compatriot Guo Pei, Xu’s designs mined the rich Oriental motifs like the cloud and wave motifs as well as the cheongsam silhouette.

His designs also got us thinking: How exciting it would be if more airlines tapped on haute couture designs for their flight attendants uniforms? In this video, we list out the looks that would make it to our wishlist. One thing’s for sure: these looks don’t fly budget.
