The Korean Label Giving Classic Shoe Silhouettes An Edge

Founded by South Korean Sunyuul Yie in 2010, footwear label Yuul Yie continues to delight with its offbeat yet functional and comfortable designs season after season. Flats, sandals, slingbacks, mules and pumps — you name it —  Yie’s got it, but she never sacrifices style for comfort with heels not going more than three inches, and are often stacked. A girl after our own millennial heart.

Designed for everyday wear and not just for special occasions (but really, these shoes inspire us to dress from the feet up), there is a fun and playful spirit in its architectural silhouettes, unconventional toe and heel shapes, gorgeous colours, ribbons, geometric detailing, pearls and use of unorthodox fabrics. The brand’s wares are manufactured in Seoul, and they develop their own hardware and heel details in-house. Celebrity cred comes by way of Gemma Chan and Emma Roberts to name but a few, and it’s not hard to see why given that the judicious detailing makes for maximum impact when worn.
