It was a night of Cyber Jungle fever at Capital Zouk earlier this month.

That was the theme of Zalora’s annual Style Awards. Held on July 10, this event was a gathering of the who’s who of the local fashion scene, bringing some of Singapore’s most fashionable creative talents together under one roof.

The initiative by fashion e-retailer Zalora, presented by UOB Lady’s Card, was not only to celebrate their sixth birthday, but also to honour local fashion players.

Six individuals were named “Fashion Game Changer of the Year”, “Designer of the Year”, “Fashion Photographer of the Year”, “Female Style Star of the Year”, “Male Style Star of the Year” and “Beauty Content Creator of the Year”.

The awards aim to acknowledge individuals in the fashion industry for their expression and creativity.

Those invited to this exclusive by-invite only event were decked out in tropical inspired outfits with a modern twist to echo the theme for this event – “Cyber Jungle”.

According to Zalora, “cyber” represents the neon lights and the futuristic vibe of the event venue and makes references to the digital era we now experience and the connections we build daily.

“Jungle” is a nod to everyone who lives and breathes fashion,” said Zalora. “The jungle (or the society we live in) is (often) filled with many species: Some choose to stand out, others blend in, but all living together with their own role, complementing each other. This mirrors the real world, where fashion taste is unique to each individual yet bonds us all together.”
