Time is never on my side in the morning, which is why I prefer to stick to a 10-minute makeup routine to ensure I get that extra few minutes of sleep before I start my day. Even with the short time (yes, I am strict on myself), I make sure all the essential steps are ticked off my checklist because I always prefer having a full face of makeup that lasts the entire day. A soft, sultry eye look paired with a bold lip is my go-to for rushed days. Here are the products I can’t live without.
I always start off with a moisturiser to hydrate my skin before applying my makeup.
Next up, primer. It is important to prep your face before applying foundation as it will provide a smooth, even base. Primers also help my makeup last throughout the day which is a must for me as I am always on the go.
This lightweight foundation blends easily and gives off a semi-matte finish. It also provides high coverage (read: what concealer?) which is perfect for when I’m in a rush.
Since I have combination skin, I prefer setting my base makeup with a colourless powder on areas where my skin gets oily (read: undereye and T-zone area).
This easy-to-use eyebrow pencil comes with a spoolie to comb my brows for a more polished look.
Not only does this palette give great colour payoff, it’s also perfect to create a soft smoky eye. Here are my three easy steps to give your lids a pop of colour in less than two minutes.
First, start off by mixing Mocha and Bordeaux for a brown base followed by Malted. Blend the colours together and you’re done – it is that simple.
An eyeliner that’s waterproof and long-lasting is a definite must for me. I simply draw a thin line, following the shape of my eye.
I will apply a couple coats of mascara – once again, one that is waterproof, smudgeproof and long-lasting – to elongate my lashes as well as give them volume.
Bronzers are a must in my makeup routine as it gives colour while at the same time shaping my face for a sharper, slimmer effect.
I prefer an intense glow on the high points of my face which is why I opt for a highlighter that’s pigmented so one swipe is all it takes to give me that glow.
Tinted lip balms are my lifesavers. I prefer opting for one that is highly pigmented and long-lasting to ensure the colour stays on throughout the day.
